I chose to focus on the people that I love, represented by flowers in varying degrees of realism or abstraction. My family is all unique in their own ways, yet connected, just like flowers in nature.

My Pieces

Ace of Spades was a blind portrait, and a blind portrait is a portrait of someone you don't know, and in it you try to capture the persons likes, and some personality traits if at all possible. In this, I tried to make Ace the most stand out object on the page, because she has a very bold personality, everything else on the page was made to be a bit duller, and more in the background. The spade in the corner was a fun way to represent her name, I did it in red because it is a very bold color, which I used to represent the boldness of her personality again.

This piece was inspired by my biological grandpa on my moms side, who i never met, but i heard many things about. His favorite flower was a calla lily, and he was a scientist, so i tried to combine those two things and make a piece that had a slight fade to it to show that his memory is starting to fade as fewer people who were close to him live on.

My "adopted grandpa" as i like to refer to him was the inspiration for this piece. He loves building guitars, and his favorite flower is a sunflower, I chose to do a dot painting because it makes it seem like the sunflowers makeup the guitar, to symbolize him building them. The center (though it is hard to tell) has elderflowers which are symbolic of compassion which is something that my grandpa has a lot of for his family.

The The Blind Tiger is simultaneously one of my most personal and relatable works. Most people find that part of their private soul is on display through The Blind Tiger. Fans often compare their first interaction with this piece to the feeling of slowly being undressed in front of a crowd of blind onlookers. This piece and others are currently on display in my studio.

This piece was inspired by my grandparents who have been together for god only knows how long. Their lives are intertwined with each other and they help to keep each other bright and thriving even when the darkness of the dark outside word comes crashing in around them.

This piece was inspired by my gradma on my moms side who passes away when I was 8 from cancer. Her favorite flower was a rose, and I wanted to make it seem like it was only partially there like my grandma whose memory is what remains of her, which was only part of her.

This piece was to symbolize my mom who is constantly forced to think inside the box when doing what she loves, yet she still finds ways to make things her own.

This flower was kept simple in design and colors because I an still so young, and have yet to fully develop myself, so there isn't much to share yet, I can't yet show my true colors, for they aren't there to show.

My sisters favorite animal is the elephant, which is incredibly smart, just like her. The left ear is a bit more jam pact and unique symbolizing the more creative side of the brain, whereas the right side is more neat and organized like the right side of the brain, which is the logical side of the brain.
